The Košice Regional Police warns drivers and pedestrians about the current thick fog, which significantly reduces visibility and increases the risk of traffic accidents. “Be visible, drive carefully and think about your safety,” he says on the social network.
He appeals to drivers to they turned on the dipped headlights, as daylight is not enough in the fog. It also reminds that fog lights should only be used if visibility is significantly reduced. “Adapt your speed to visibility, not the maximum limit. Keep a safe distance,” he adds.
Pedestrians are invited to using reflective elements on clothes, bags or backpacks and moving as close to the edge of the road as possible. “Don’t forget that in the fog, drivers see you at the last moment,” the police point out.
