Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi emphasized during Tuesday’s conversation with Austrian Chancellor Christian Stocker that Ukraine’s entry into the European Union is a key step not only for the security of his country, but also for the whole of Europe. At the same time, Zelensky expressed the ambition to achieve this goal by 2027. According to him, Ukraine is ready to contribute to the strengthening of Europe in the field of security, technology and economy, while expecting support from its partners.

“The collective strength of Europe is possible only thanks to the cooperation and contribution of all its members. Ukraine is ready to be a part of this effort, and we believe that 2027 is a realistic goal,” Zelenskyy said on the social network X. During the interview, he also informed Stocker about the recent negotiations between the Ukrainian, American and Russian delegations that took place in the United Arab Emirates. The main topic of these discussions were military issues and security guarantees.
Energy infrastructure support
In the interview, Zelenskyi also touched on the current situation in Ukraine, especially in the field of energy. He pointed out that Russian attacks on the energy infrastructure continue on a daily basis, which causes serious problems with the supply of electricity and heat for the population. “It is essential that our partners respond to these attacks with concrete steps,” the Ukrainian president emphasized.
In this context, he praised Austria’s decision to allocate funds to support the Ukrainian energy sector. He called this step a sign of solidarity and an important contribution to mitigating the consequences of Russian attacks. At the same time, Zelensky invited the Austrian chancellor to visit Ukraine in order to personally familiarize himself with the situation in the country.
Security negotiations
In addition to energy, the conversation also focused on broader security issues. Zelenskyy informed Stocker about the progress of the negotiations in the United Arab Emirates, where the possibilities of strengthening security guarantees for Ukraine were discussed. According to him, these negotiations are crucial for the future of the country, which faces constant aggression from Russia.
At the same time, the Ukrainian president expressed his belief that cooperation with European partners, including Austria, is necessary to achieve stability in the region. “With joint forces, we can face the challenges before us and ensure peace and prosperity for the whole of Europe,” concluded Zelensky.
