800 “solar trees” will supply ski areas in Sölden with electricity


Anyone who takes the drag lift to the Tiefenbach glacier above Sölden will see something unusual on the edge of the piste: twelve metal crosses sticking out of the snow, each about six meters high, four wings with solar panels in all directions. From a distance they look like bare trees. The locals are already calling it a “solar forest”.
