The governor of Goíás, , announced, this Tuesday (27), that he left the and joined the , an acronym chaired by . Caiado wants to be a candidate for President of the Republic in 2026.
With no space in União Brasil to launch his candidacy, he had been negotiating to join Podemos or Solidariedade, but ended up opting for the PSD.
Kassab, in turn, already had two governors as options to launch at Palácio do Planalto — Ratinho Junior, from Paraná, and Eduardo Leite, from Rio Grande do Sul.
Caiado recorded a video alongside the two governors and said he acted with “total detachment”. “He who is chosen [no partido] will carry this flag”, he said.
The president of the PSD even declared that he would support a candidacy by the governor of , (Republicans), for the Presidency, but the scenario changed when the former president (PL) nominated his son Flávio Bolsonaro (PL), and not his former minister, for the election.
