Minister Bruno Dantas was appointed rapporteur at the (Federal Audit Court) to preside over the Securities and Exchange Commission (CVM).
According to the action of the deputy attorney general of the Public Ministry, Lucas Rocha Furtado, Lobo became “a central character in the biggest financial scandal in the country”.
Furtado cites in the action reports that characterize Lobo’s nomination by President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, last year, as meeting political criteria, not technical ones.
“I emphasize that the choice was not well received by entities linked to the market, who expressed concern about what they classified as an indication guided more by political criteria than technical ones”, says the deputy attorney general.
Furtado says that the ideal would be for the Senate to suspend Lobo’s hearing. If this does not happen, he argues that the Senate be alerted about criticism of the nominee.
Dantas does not have a deadline for a decision on the representation of the Public Ministry, and must first listen to the technical area of the TCU.
