Amid the scandal, Grupo Lide hid a video of the banker, who presided over the institution, being awarded by the organization in 2024.
Vorcaro received an award in the Entrepreneurship category, in a ceremony held on December 9 of that year. However, on Tuesday afternoon (27), in a playlist reserved for the awards show, all the honorees appeared with individual testimonials except for Vorcaro.
The video, although it had not been removed, was listed as “unlisted”, a feature that YouTube applies to make the content visible only to those who have the link, without allowing the video to appear in searches or on the channel. The award playlist itself stated that “an unavailable video is hidden”.
In it, Vocaro thanks him for the award and says that it has symbolic value. “Brazil is a country of entrepreneurs, people who create new businesses, innovate, overcome so many barriers, which is what it means to undertake in Brazil. So receiving this award is a great honor”, he states.
Investigations by the Central Bank, the MPF (Federal Public Ministry) and the Federal Police (PF) showed evidence that credit portfolios acquired by Master, worth R$12.2 billion, had been forged and used to inflate the bank’s balance sheet, which passed them on to the BRB (Banco de Brasília) at a time when the institution was facing liquidity difficulties.
In a statement to the PF, Vorcaro denied the fraud and said he did not know.
When contacted by the Panel, Lide responded, in a note, that “the video remains active on the channel”. Soon after, the content returned to appear normally on the group page and in the event playlist.
The Lide group promotes and was founded by the former governor of São Paulo, who is a member of its board.
