Police carry out mega operation to combat robberies in São Paulo

The Military Police carries out a mega blitz operation against robberieson the morning of this Wednesday (28), in various parts of the city of São Paulo. The action includes blockades, approaches, inspection and aerial support from the Águia helicopter.

Military personnel from the Traffic Policing Command are positioned simultaneously in 10 points in the capital of São Paulo to increase police presence in the city’s main corridors and combat crimes against property, especially those committed with motorcycles.

These are previously identified blockages in areas of public safety interestwhere CPTran works with its expertise and CPC works in synergy,” says Colonel Carlos Lucena, operational coordinator of the Military Police.

The new edition of Megaoperation Cavalo de Aço runs until 12pm this Wednesday and features 170 military police officers and 72 CPTran vehicles. The action also aims to intensify, ensuring compliance with standards related to road safety, to prevent accidents and preserve lives in traffic.

On Thursday (29) and Friday (30), the Operation Total Force Impactan initiative of the National Council of General Commanders, carried out simultaneously by military police across the country. The actions will take place in regions with relevant crime indicators.

This Thursday, the operation will take place in the area of ​​the 8th Military Police Battalion, in the region of Tatuapé. On Friday, the performance will be in the 27th BPM area, no extreme on the capitalwhere the PM will intensify policing following recent incidents.

“These are operations with more than 100 police officers per day, with air support and an overt presence to respond immediately to crime. These are actions to directly combat criminal indicators”, highlighted Lucena.

The PM also detailed that motorcyclists were responsible for 47% of deaths recorded in the period.
