After the governor of Goiás, Ronaldo Caiado, announced on Tuesday (27), the change of party from União Brasil to PSDhe said this Wednesday (28), at the 13th edition of the Latin American Investment Conference (LAIC), that he had a conversation with the senator and pre-candidate for the presidency of the Republic, Flávio Bolsonaro, and they agreed that the greater number of votes in a first round for the right and center-right increases the chances of a better second round.

“NThere is no clutter, no disagreement in relation to this center-right stance. There is no one against the other, in the second round we will all be with the one who actually makes it through the first round”, he concluded.

The LAIC, held in São Paulo, was also attended by the governors: Ratinho Jr (PSD), from Paraná; Eduardo Leite (PSD), from Rio Grande do Sul and Romeu Zema (NOVO), from Minas Gerais.

For Caiado the challenge of the candidates It’s not just about winning the electionbut managing the country which, in his words: is in a “assembled organizational disorder”. The governor of Goiás also pointed out that if he is chosen to represent the PSD in the 2026 elections, he will seek alliances with other parties such as MDB and Republicans.

Eduardo Leite was also questioned by journalists about the criteria that will be adopted for the choice of party representativeand said that there is no criteria, but that the decision is in the hands of the party’s president, Gilberto Kassab. “My spirit, that of Caiado and Ratinho is the same, the country that is being thought of from the PSD, a party that has a position from the center to the right and it is clear that within this spectrum there are thoughts also with different styles, but which in the end converge with each other”, he declared.

Regarding the date on which the representative of the party will be chosen, the governor of Paraná, Ratinho Jr, said that this should happen within three months.

The person who also declared that he is united with the PSD was the governor of Minas, Romeu Zema, who reinforced support for Flávio Bolsonaro in the next elections. “As far as it depends on me, the four (governors) plus Flávio will be together. I have already publicly stated that I will be supporting any of them and also Flávio in the second round against the PT.”

Zema concluded by saying that the proposals they bring in relation to those from the left are those that will take Brazil forward and that “social programs are extremely important” but that you need to have an exit door and that it is not possible to live with additional expenses that make “investment in Brazil prohibitive”, said the governor of Minas Gerais.

Caiado’s change of party and the governors’ recent statements point to an attempt by the right to demonstrate unity in the pre-election period after rumors of conflicts between the former president’s son and the governor of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas, who denies any friction.
