Iran says it wants to negotiate with the US, but warns that it has “fingers on the trigger”

Iran wants to negotiate but is ready for any war scene. This has been assured, in the last few hours, by several senior officials of the Islamic Republicwhich is preparing for a possible US attack in the coming hours, days or weeks, after threats from the president of USA, Donald Trumpwhich assured this Wednesday that a “larger fleet” than the one Washington used against Venezuela It is heading towards the coasts of Iran.

“Our armed forces are ready, and his fingers are on the triggerto respond immediately and in a very powerful way to any aggression. The lessons learned from the 12-day war have helped us prepare a response that is quick, strong and profound,” declared the Iranian Foreign Minister this Wednesday night, Abbas Araghchi.

Iran threatens that any type of attack – no matter how small or calculated – will receive a full and disproportionate response. Experts consider that this is one of the conclusions that Tehran took out of the 12 day war contra Israel in June of last year, when the regime responded measuredlydue to lack of capacity or interest in reducing tensions, in the face of the brutal attacks by Israeli aviation, which completely beheaded the military leadership of the Islamic Republic.

These restrained responses from Iran did nothing to prevent the threat of another round of attacks, this time much more dangerous for an Iranian regime cornered both externally and internally.

“But at the same time, Iran has always been open to a nuclear deal that is mutually beneficial, fair and equitablewithout coercion, threats or intimidation,” Araghchi continued.

Unlike June, the authorities of the Persian country now fear that an attack from abroad will put in a royal jack to the Islamic Republic, with a reactivation of the protests from early January.

It was precisely the regime’s fear of a foreign attack added to the discontent in the streets that provoked a brutal response from Tehran. According to the NGO FOOD, 6,300 people have been confirmed deadand others 17.000 are pending confirmation. Most of these deaths occurred from live fire by Iranian police and paramilitaries, especially during the massive demonstrations of January 8 and 9.

Possible mediation

To date, Tehran and Washington have been exchanging messages through Oman. Mediation efforts are now being added Türkiyewhere Araghchi makes a surprise visit this Friday to meet with his Turkish counterpart, Hakan Fidan. This is Araghchi’s first visit to a country in the I’LL TAKE since the escalation of tensions.

“Fidan will explain to Araghchi that Türkiye is following everything that happens in Iran, and that the peace, security and stability of the neighboring country are of great importance for Ankara. Türkiye is ready to offer its support to resolve tensions between Washington and Tehran,” a source from the Turkish Foreign Ministry said this Thursday.
