Matías Galarza Fonda is a Paraguayan professional midfielder, born on February 11, 2002, in Asunción, Paraguay. He plays mainly as a midfielder or central midfielder, with good physical presence, marking ability and quality in passing the ball. He currently plays for River Plate, from Argentina, a club with which he has a contract until December 2028.
Galarza began his career at Olimpia, in Paraguay, and gained prominence when he was signed by Vasco da Gama in 2021, still very young. In Brazilian football, he also played for Coritiba before moving to Talleres, in Argentina.

When it was negotiated between Talleres and River Plate, in 2025, the transfer values were mentioned behind the scenes between 8 and 10 million eurosconsidering the total operation package.
