National vice-president of and mayor of Maricá (RJ), Washington Quaquá diverges from the dominant opinion in the party and advised the Minister of Finance, not to run as a candidate in this year’s election.
“If the PT has any sense, it will put you as coordinator of Lula’s campaign and preserve you for succession, without exposing you in the election in São Paulo. You are the only framework we have for Lula’s succession in 2030″, he said to Haddad, during their meeting this Thursday (29).
According to the mayor, there are several competitive candidates in the government base for the São Paulo dispute.
