“The rapporteur of the matter, deputy Mendonça Filho, will listen to the parties, the government and the opposition to conclude the proposal. Violence in Brazil is a serious problem, and combating it is a priority agenda for the Chamber of Deputies”, he declared.

“Last year, we reached almost 50 matters related to security approved in plenary. We will advance even further in 2026”, continued the president of the Chamber.

In the coming weeks, Mendonça Filho must present his opinion to the benches. After the vote in the collegiate body, the text will still be analyzed by the plenary.
The Union deputy stated that he had appealed at the meeting for the anti-faction project to be voted on after analyzing the PEC. The suggestion was “well received”, according to the deputy. Next week, the rapporteur should also meet with the new Minister of Justice, Wellington César, to discuss the PEC.
