A military plane crashed in a forested area in northern Thailand on Thursday during a training flight. Both pilots on board lost their lives. Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the crash, the Thai Air Force said. TASR writes about it according to an AFP report.
“Two pilots were killed this morning in an air crash of an AT-6TH light combat aircraft during training,” a Royal Thai Air Force spokesman said.
Plane crash
The two-seater aircraft crashed in Chiang Mai province at approximately 10:20 a.m. local time (04:20 a.m. CET) during a training search and rescue mission in combat conditions, the air force said in a statement.
The accident did not cause any further loss of life or damage to civilian property, the statement added.
In April last year, six Thai police officers died after a small plane crashed into the sea during skydiving training near a resort south of the capital, Bangkok.
