About SC01

JMEV’s new SC01 comes with all the basic features of a sports car: driving pleasure, lightweight construction, precise handling and, above all, with… buttons.

Launched in China, its country of origin, last year, the SC01 is now confirmed for a limited series in Europe in 2026.

A describes him as the “first truly electric sports car”.

Currently, the vehicle is manufactured in China by JMEV – one joint venture between Renault and Jiangling Motors. The information so far is that the SC01 will not be imported from China, but instead will be assembled in Italy and only 1,000 units will be made available for Europe.

Built as a two-seater electric vehicle, the same magazine describes it as a “spiritual competitor to the Mazda Miata and Tesla Roadster”.

The car weighs 1,356 kg, measures 4,100 mm long, 1,830 mm wide and 1,170 mm high, with a wheelbase of 2,500 mm. With a 60 kWh battery from CALB, the SC01 can travel about 500 km in China’s CLTC cycle.

As for charging, it takes about 36 minutes to go from 30% to 60%.

The price is not yet confirmed, but it points to a retail price of 60.000 euros.

The wedge-shaped “iconic design” is reminiscent of Italian sports cars from the 1970s.

At a time when most car manufacturers boast of having state-of-the-art information screens and electronics, critics are amazed that a Chinese car would be so focused on driving. The vehicle even has physical buttons everywhere and everything…
