Silves is preparing to host the 10th Silves Capital da Laranja Exhibition, which takes place between the 13th and 15th of February, at FISSUL – Silves Fair and Exhibition Park, bringing together dozens of exhibitors, producers linked to citrus farming, local associations and regional entities, informed the Municipality of Silves.
According to the municipality, the event once again asserts itself as one of the municipality’s anchor events, combining economic promotion, local identity and cultural entertainment, with free entry over the three days.
Citrus farming, conferences and agricultural debate
The official opening is scheduled for February 13th, at 10:30 am. In the afternoon, starting at 2:30 pm, the usual XXI Conference takes place in the FISSUL auditorium, with the aim of “giving farmers a voice and debating current topics of strategic interest to the sector”.
In this edition, topics such as the Mercosur–European Union Agreement, the results of the Agro + Eficiente project, the status of Água que Unite and the update of the perimeter of the Hydroagricultural Development of Silves, Lagoa and Portimão will be highlighted.
On Saturday, February 14th, at 11:00, the workshop “The Role of Simplification and Digitalization in the Life of Micro, Small and Medium-sized Companies” will also take place, promoted by the Municipality of Silves in partnership with CPPME.
Music, gastronomy and entertainment for everyone
Throughout the weekend, the program includes traditional music and dance performances, a magic show, puppet theater, activities for children and the now emblematic Valentine’s March. The public will also be able to enjoy regional products, wines, gastronomy, sweets and crafts, always with the Laranja de Silves highlighted.
The musical lineup includes names such as Raquel Tavares, who performs on February 13th, Matias Damásio, on the 14th, and Bandidos do Cante, who close the event on the 15th.
In parallel, the 10th edition of the Weekend with Orange Flavor is taking place, an initiative that involves restaurants in the city in creating dishes where orange is the main ingredient.
