Despite the threat of shutdowns, no breakthrough in the vote in the US Senate

Bangalore/Washington – Shortly before a possible renewed partial shutdown of US government business, there was no breakthrough in a vote on budget legislation in the Senate. A package that includes budget legislation to fund several U.S. departments failed to receive enough votes in an initial procedural vote. In addition to Democrats, a few Republicans also voted against moving forward with the legislative package. The interim budget currently in force in the USA expires on Friday.
