Former federal deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP) stated that the visit of the governor of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans), to former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL), this Thursday (29), represented a gesture of support in a “difficult time” and contributes to strengthening of political ties.

“I’m very happy to see Tarcísio visiting my father. It’s a gesture that, without a doubt, does him a lot of good in this difficult time he’s going through and that contributes so that, with more strength and energy, we can move forward with hope for better days”, wrote the former parliamentarian in a publication in X.

This was the first date between Tarcísio and Bolsonaro since the former president’s arrest. The governor had been authorized by the Minister of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) Alexandre de Moraes to carry out the visit last Thursday (22), after evaluating that the conversation could serve to pressure him to more explicitly support the candidacy of Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ) for the Presidency.

On Tuesday (27), Tarcísio stated that will not be a candidate for the Planalto Palace . Pressure from the right-wing camp for Tarcísio’s candidacy for President caused a strain on his relationship with the Bolsonaro family, which is now trying to publicly diffuse the conflict.

In the post, Eduardo Bolsonaro also said that the episode should be seen as a convergence signal between allies. “This is a time to focus on what converges. I’m sure we all share the same desire: a better Brazil”, he wrote.

According to him, São Paulo plays a central role in this process. “This path passes through São Paulo and all Brazilians, including those who are currently outside the country”, he stated.

Eduardo also highlighted the presence of former councilor Carlos Bolsonaro (PL-SC) at the meeting and said that gestures like the visit reinforce political commitments. “I was especially pleased with the visit carried out today (yesterday, Thursday) and even happier to see my brother Carlos Bolsonaro alongside the governor. Gestures like this strengthen ties, build bridges and reaffirm commitments to the future of Brazil”, he concluded.
