Flamengo terminates contract with striker Michael

Flamengo’s squad is undergoing yet another change for the remainder of the season. Outside of the club’s plans, striker Michael had his contract terminated by mutual agreement this Friday (30) and is no longer part of the red and black group. The decision was officially communicated by the board throughout the day.

In a statement, he thanked the striker for the period in which he once again wore the red-black shirt and wished him success in his career. With the contract terminated, Michael is free on the market.

The striker is expected to return to Saudi Arabian football. Before that, Michael negotiated with Santos, but the talks did not progress. The São Paulo club even agreed to hire Rony, ex-Atlético-MG, for the offensive sector.

In this second spell at Flamengo, Michael played 45 matches, scored six goals and provided five assists. In 2026, however, he did not directly participate in goals. The striker also played for Rubro-Negro between 2020 and 2021, after standing out for Goiás.
