After such intense rainfall, the balcony looks like after a flood. You need to take proper care of it to get it in order before spring. We tell you how to do it.
A long, snowy winter can wreak real havoc on balconies. Melting snow mixed with dust particles and leaves, leaves blown onto the balcony by a strong wind and frozen under a layer of white fluff, the balcony floor covered with water, melting on the railings – these are just some of the elements we may encounter. The balcony looks terrible during the thaw, but it needs to be cleaned up somehow.
The first action you need to take is to remove unnecessary things from the balcony. This will make it easier to clean. Already at this stage you can get rid of some elements forever. We are usually surprised to discover how many unnecessary things ended up on the balcony in autumn and winter.
Some of them can be taken to the plot or basement, or found somewhere else in the house. He may even return to the balcony, but only after it has been cleaned. We sort unnecessary items and throw them into the appropriate garbage container.
After clearing the balcony of the accumulated items, a picture of misery and despair is usually revealed to us. Bird droppings, dead leaves in the corners or muddy spots look bad, but we can deal with them quickly.
For cleaning, it is worth using a broom with soft bristles that will not scratch the tiles. We can also wipe off dirt and deposits wet with a cotton cloth – first using only warm water, and then adding detergent. Even vinegar or gray soap will work. However, the best products will be those for cleaning bathroom ceramics – also ideal for plastic or PVC.
Grouts can be scrubbed with a toothbrush – just like handrails. If rust appears on the balustrade, clean it with a wire brush and then protect it with an appropriate preparation. We can clean stubborn bird droppings stains with water and baking soda.
Just apply the ready-made paste to the dirt, leave it for fifteen minutes and wipe it off. If necessary, repeat the action until successful. If there is not much water on the balcony, it is worth sweeping or vacuuming it before washing.
Remember not to wash the balcony on a frosty day. This makes no sense because the water used will freeze quickly. Let’s wait for positive temperatures.
