A 19-year-old young man caused a disturbance at UPA da Barra, in Balneário Camboriúafter having the request for a medical certificate denied. According to information from Secretary of Healththe patient was seen, received medication prescriptions, but did not meet the criteria for issuing the document.

Unsatisfied, the young man left the unit visibly altered and, shortly after, returned armed, trying to intimidate the doctor who had provided the treatment. The situation generated apprehension among health professionals and UPA users.
A security guard prevented the suspect from entering and called the Santa Catarina Military Police (PMSC). Police carried out searches in the area, but the young man has not been located so far.
In a statement, the Department of Health informed that the UPA team was shaken by the incident and received support. The ministry also announced that the security of the unit will be reinforced to guarantee the integrity of professionals and patients.
