A Brazilian editorial project dedicated to the publication and dissemination of classic and contemporary works of Catholic thought, Minha Biblioteca Católica (MBC) expanded its operations to the USA.
The expansion occurs at a time when young Americans’ interest in Catholicism is growing, in a country with a Protestant majority that has also seen secularization in recent decades.
Last year, an American was elected Pope Leo the 14th, contributing to the popularity of Catholicism in the USA.
Research shows that among young people in the so-called Generation Z, the number of Catholics already exceeds the number of Protestants.
MBC currently has more than 7 million books in print, with a catalog of more than 200 titles. It also has 1 million followers on Instagram, 200 thousand on YouTube, a monthly reach of more than 3 million people on social media and approximately 2 million monthly visits to its digital channels and blog.
According to the project’s creators, the main objective is “to contribute to the return of religion to public debate, especially among new generations, as a response to the crisis of meaning and the search for more lasting foundations in an increasingly unstable world.”
