The D2 highway between Kútki and Malacca will be closed in both directions during the next night. The reason is the request of the city of Malacky in connection with the installation of a new bridge for pedestrians and cyclists over the highway. TASR was informed about this by the media communication department of the National Highway Company (NDS).
Restriction will start at 10:00 p.m., while the project implementer expects to finish the work on Sunday (February 1) at 06:00 a.m. “The bypass route will lead along the old road, that is through Sekule, Moravský Svätý Ján and Veľké Leváre,” pointed out from NDS. According to them, the closure is necessary to ensure the safety of workers and motorists.
The city of Malacky explained on its website that the footbridge with a length of 46 meters and a weight of 80 tons will be installed by an 800-ton crane. “The new footbridge will be part of the Duklian heroes – Na majeri cycling route, which will be ready in a few weeks,” the municipality of Malaciek reported on its website. She reminded that the Bratislava self-governing region wants to implement in the future cycle route from Rohožník, while both cycle routes connect in the Malacca locality of Na majeri.
