The Military Fire Department, through the 6th Education, Protection and Forest Fire Fighting Battalion (6th BEPCIF), carried out this Friday (30) a series of inspections and monitoring actions along the Iaco River, which continues to flood in the municipality. The initiative aims to closely monitor the impacts caused by rising water levels and ensure a quick response to the population’s demands.

The mobilization was attended by the commander of the 6th BEPCIF, Gustavo Marinho, the prosecutor Júlio César Medeiros and the commander of the 8th Military Police Battalion, Fábio Diniz, as well as representatives from other public bodies. During the visits, critical flooding points, the housing conditions of riverside families and the need to adopt preventive and emergency measures were analyzed.
Among the actions evaluated are the removal of families in risk areas, the reinforcement of social assistance and the articulation of logistical support, if the situation worsens. The integrated work between the institutions seeks to ensure more agility in decisions and greater effectiveness in actions, prioritizing the safety and well-being of affected residents.
According to the Fire Department, monitoring will continue continuously while the Iaco River flood lasts. The joint action of security forces, inspection bodies and representatives of public authorities reinforces the authorities’ commitment to minimizing the impacts of the flood and providing assistance to the population during the emergency period faced by the municipality.
