Lula has “satisfactory evolution” after cataract surgery, says Planalto

This Saturday, President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva carried out a routine assessment of the first post-operative day of cataract surgery, at the Mirar Oftalmologia clinic, in Brasília.

In a note, the Palácio do Planalto reported that Lula presented ‘satisfactory evolution, with an ophthalmological examination within the expected range for the period’.

The president was discharged from hospital on Friday after undergoing cataract surgery on his left eye, which was uneventful. Lula will resume activities on Monday.
