The president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) passed this Saturday (31), for a routine assessment on the first day after cataract surgery on the left eye.

According to information from the Secretariat of Social Communication (Secom), he showed satisfactory progresswith an ophthalmological examination as expected for the period.

The procedure was carried out at the Mirar Oftalmologia clinic, in Brasília.

. O procedure is indicated with advancing age. In 2020, he had already undergone cataract surgery on his right eye.

There is no scheduled schedule for this weekend. According to Secom, the president will return to his usual activities next Monday 2.
