Federal deputy Roseana Sarney (MDB-MA), who was admitted again this week to Hospital Sírio-Libanês, in São Paulo, to treat pneumonia. She was discharged this Friday (30). Roseana updated her health status in a video published on social media and stated that she continues to recover.

At 72 years old, Roseana is treating triple-negative breast cancerconsidered one of the most aggressive subtypes of the disease. On January 18, she had been admitted with pneumonia and was discharged two days later, but had to return to the hospital.

According to the deputy, surgery is scheduled for next week. On medical advice, the last chemotherapy session, scheduled for January 27th, was suspended. Roseana was the first woman elected governor of a Brazilian state. Daughter of former president José Sarney, she commanded Maranhão for four terms, was a senator and served as government leader in the National Congress.
