Right: fragmentation in the SP Senate strengthens Haddad – 01/30/2026 – Panel

Leaders of the São Paulo right-wing have been expressing concern about a possible candidacy for a competitive name from the left, especially if it is (PT).

The assessment is that Haddad will be strong for one of the two vacancies in dispute if the conservative field fragments into several candidacies.

The former Secretary of Security (PP) and the former Minister of the Environment Ricardo Salles (Novo) are already presenting themselves as candidates for the Senate. Both claim that their candidacies are irreversible and will continue until the end.

Last Saturday (24), which, although not aligned with Bolsonarism, has opposed the Lula government.

Furthermore, the PL is also rehearsing to launch its own candidate for the Senate. Names considered are federal deputies Rosana Valle, Marco Feliciano and Mário Frias, state deputy Gil Diniz and vice-mayor of São Paulo, Ricardo Mello Araújo.
