The Judicial Police reveals that during a “house search of the suspect’s residence” relevant traces of blood were found, “which corroborated the strong suspicions”.

The Judiciary Police (PJ), through the National Counterterrorism Unit, launched a police operation this Saturday in the Lourinhã area and arrested “the suspected killer of Maria Amaral, the security agent who has been missing since January 19th”.

During this operation, adds the PJ, “a house search was carried out at the suspect’s residence, where hematic traces were found”, that is, traces of blood, “which corroborated the strong suspicions”.

“After carrying out an inspection of the site, the PJ will carry out measures with a view to removing the corpse from the place where it was hidden”, .

The arrest “occurred in compliance with an arrest warrant outside of flagrante delicto”, and the suspect will be presented to the competent judicial authority for the first judicial interrogation and application of coercive measures.

The PJ will continue the investigation with “a view to fully investigating the circumstances in which the crime occurred”.
