The transcript is part of the new batch of documents released on Friday, the 30th, by the US Department of Justice, on the case of the billionaire involved in sex trafficking.

In the statement, Epstein was asked about the close friendship he maintained with Clinton until the early 2000s, joint trips and flights by the politician in his aircraft, and about a visit by the former president, allegedly accompanied by two young women of “approximately 18 years old”, to the tycoon’s private island, which he kept secret.

Then testifying in the trial of Virginia Giuffre (victim who exposed the crimes) against Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein answered “Thursday” throughout the testimony, including questions about Clinton. The word refers to the Fifth Amendment of the American Constitution, which deals with the right not to incriminate oneself when testifying, by remaining silent.

Epstein was also asked whether the lawsuit had the potential to affect the prosecution of Clinton and other figures such as Prince Andrew, but did not respond.

A companion of Epstein, Maxwell was sentenced to 20 years in prison for grooming and trafficking underage girls who were then abused by his network.
Another new mention of the former president in Epstein’s file appears in a 2009 email sent by socialite Peggy Siegal to Epstein. She reports on a party at Maxwell’s house attended by Clinton, Jeff Bezos and other guests.

To date, Clinton has not been charged in the Epstein case, and there have been no public accusations of abuse against him. The former president says he had no knowledge of the crimes committed by Epstein.
A series of photos of the former president accompanied by Epstein and Maxwell, alongside celebrities such as Michael Jackson and Mick Jagger, had already come to light in a release of the file made by the Ministry of Justice in December.
President Donald Trump has already declared that he would request a federal investigation into Epstein and his relationship with the former Democratic president and other personalities. In the most recent material from the case released by the Department of Justice, there is an anonymous complaint against Trump for sexual abuse of a teenager.

Last year, the US House Committee subpoenaed Bill and Hillary Clinton to testify about their ties to Epstein, but the couple refused to attend the hearing, leading to contempt proceedings.
