Iran: Explosion in a building of the port of Bandar Abbas

The alarm was sounded on Saturday after a powerful explosion occurred at a building in the Persian Gulf port of Bandar Abbas, with Iranian authorities categorically denying reports that the head of the Revolutionary Guards Navy had been targeted.

A second explosion in the south claimed the lives of four members of a family.

According to the first information, the explosion in Bandar Abbas caused extensive damage to two floors of an eight-story building, as well as to parked cars and adjacent shops.

Firefighters and rescue crews rushed to the scene, while the authorities cordoned off the area for safety reasons and to investigate the causes.

The Tasnim news agency reported that “the information circulating on social media about the targeting of the commander of the Revolutionary Guards Navy is completely false,” rejecting scenarios of an attack on a top military official.
