Growing peppers, although not complicated, requires us to meet some important dates. One of them is fast approaching. We are talking about sowing plants. Check when you need to do it and how to do it to reap abundant harvests in the future.
If we want to grow peppers, it is worth rolling up our sleeves and getting to work soon, because the best time for this procedure is from mid-February to early March. However, be careful not to do it too early, as the seedlings could be over-stretched and therefore weakened. In turn, missing this date will delay fruiting.
Peppers should be sown at home because this makes it easier to control humidity and temperature. Sowing the plant itself is not difficult. All you need to do is place the seeds in containers or multi-pots filled with light and permeable material .
We place them at a depth of about 1 cm, then cover them lightly with soil and water them carefully, preferably with a sprinkler. It is a good idea to cover the containers with foil to retain moisture. However, we must remember to ventilate daily to prevent mold from developing.

After sowing, we must ensure that the peppers can germinate. For this it needs a high temperature, about 24-26 degrees Celsius. Thanks to this, the first emergence appears after 7-14 days. Then remove the foil and move the pots to a very bright place. This is also the moment when we lower the temperature to 18-22 degrees.
Then, when the peppers have already produced 2-3 plants, we can transplant them into separate pots. Remember to water young plants regularly and moderately during further cultivation. However, be careful not to cause it to dry out or flood. After about 7 weeks, we can slowly start hardening the plants.
We plant peppers in the ground after May 15, when the risk of frost has passed. Let’s also remember to water the young plants regularly after planting them and protecting them from the strong sun in the first days.
We can also apply a light vegetable fertilizer to support the development of roots and leaves. It is also important observing plants, which allows you to quickly respond to pests and diseases. Attention to these details in the initial period of cultivation significantly affects the quality and quantity of later crops.
