Senator Damares Alves (Republicanos-DF) filed a complaint with the Public Electoral Ministry (MPE) against the Samba School Academicos of Niterói, in Rio de Janeiro for early electoral propaganda. Debuting in the Special Group, the group parades with the plot “From the top of the mulungu comes hope: Lula, the worker of Brazil”, which covers the trajectory of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva from his childhood in Garanhuns (PE), through his migration to São Paulo, his work as a metalworker and union leader, until his terms as President of the Republic.
In the document filed this Monday, the parliamentarian criticized the public funding received by the samba school. This is an amount related to a technical cooperation agreement signed between Embratur and the Independent League of Samba Schools of Rio de Janeiro (Liesa) to allocate R$ 12 million to the twelve associations of the Rio de Janeiro Carnival special group.
According to the parliamentarian, the parade should honor the current head of the Executive, in addition to making provocative criticisms of former president Jair Bolsonaro, including the “misinformation that he had killed people during the pandemic”.
Opportunity with security!
“The action of this Public Electoral Ministry is urgent, in view of the facts reported here, so that equal treatment and opportunities are guaranteed for all candidates for the presidential election”, says Damares.
As the column by Lauro Jardim, from GLOBO, showed, the amount transferred to the school was already the target of another parliamentarian, federal deputy Kim Kataguiri (MBL-SP). This Friday, the parliamentarian filed a class action against the transfer of R$1 million to a Niteroi school, claiming that the resource could be used to praise Lula and project a positive image of the PT member, a pre-candidate for re-election. The deputy asked for the immediate suspension of the cooperation agreement with the school, in addition to blocking new transfers and the return of amounts already transferred.
Acadêmicos de Niterói will be the first to enter the Avenue on Carnival Sunday (15), followed by Imperatriz Leopoldinense, Portela and Mangueira. Among the names already confirmed in the parade are the actress Juliana Baroni, who will represent the former first lady Marisa Letícia, and the current first lady Rosângela Lula da Silva, known as Janja, who will parade for the association. It is not yet known whether Lula will parade.
