Gospel singer Ron Kenoly died this Tuesday (3), aged 81. The information was released by musical director Bruno Miranda on social media.
“For more than 20 years, I have had the honor of walking alongside him in ministry around the world, not only as his musical director, but as a leader, a student, and a witness to a life marked by faithfulness,” he wrote.
“Offstage, Doc carried the same integrity, humility, and reverence for God that the world saw under the lights. He taught me that worship begins long before the first note is played, shaped by obedience, character, and a deep fear of the Lord. Today, we grieve deeply, but not without hope. The worship he experienced is now the worship he beholds,” he reflected.
In the last publication made on the singer’s profile, on January 30th, he appeared preaching sitting in a chair, without visible signs of weakness. The cause of death was not disclosed.
According to his Spotify description, he was born in Coffeyville, Kansas, and in 1985 was hired as the music pastor at Jubilee Christian Center in San Jose, California.
In 1989, Michael Coleman and Don Moen invited him to be a worship leader for Integrity Music’s Hosanna Integrity praise and worship projects. His first albums were released on the project’s label, being “Jesus Is Alive” and “Lift Him Up”, which received national and international acclaim.
Ron Kenoly received his Doctorate and PhD degrees from Friends International University — a private Christian university in the United States.
