Vienna – The Institute for Advanced Studies (IHS) has lowered its inflation expectations for 2026 to 2.2 percent. In its winter forecast, the institute had assumed 2.5 percent. The government viewed the figures on Monday as evidence of the effectiveness of its measures. According to IHS economist Sebastian Koch, energy packages and VAT reductions are noticeably curbing inflation.
