A new, independent commission will promote journalism in the future based on key figures and quality criteria. A research group led by media scientist Andy Kaltenbrunner recommends this to the media ministry in a preliminary report. As reported, Media Minister Andreas Babler (SPÖ) commissioned Kaltenbrunner to analyze existing Austrian media funding and make recommendations for an overall reform that the government has set out in its coalition program.
