With plans to guarantee the governor’s (Republican) vice-president seat in this year’s election, the leaders are working to expand their base from 20 to 24 state deputies in March this year, during the party window.
Therefore, the PL will be responsible for half of Tarcísio’s support base in the House.
The party intends to nominate, currently occupied by Felício Ramuth ().
Names like Oseias de Madureira (PSD) and Marcelo Aguiar (Podemos) are already moving towards migrating to the PL, while there are negotiations with deputies Analice Fernandes, Carla Morando and Maria Lúcia Amary, all affiliated with the PSDB today.
The PL’s gestures aim to stop the attacks of the PSD president, who plans to launch his own name as vice-president in this year’s election.
The vice position was offered to the PSD in the 2022 election as a way of convincing Kassab to coordinate Tarcísio’s campaign on that occasion.
