STM launches scientific magazine on military law

Periodical was announced at the opening of the Judiciary Year this Monday (2.Feb.2026) and seeks international indexing

The (Superior Military Court) announced the relaunch of a scientific journal focused on the production and dissemination of legal knowledge in the area of ​​military law.

According to the STM, the journal has 43 experts responsible for evaluating articles and 35 authors registered for collaboration.

According to minister Leonardo Puntel, the publication “represents the institutional importance of Military Justice and the legacy of knowledge for future generations”.

The journal adopts academic peer review criteria and seeks international indexing certification to expand its circulation and recognition outside the country.

UNDERSTAND

The magazine is not a new initiative. The STM publication on Doctrine and Jurisprudence has existed since 1975 and, in recent years, has been repositioned to act as a scientific journal, with the aim of expanding reach and academic inclusion.

In documents published on the court’s contracts portal, the STM signed TED (Decentralized Execution Term) nº 01/2025 with the (Brazilian Institute of Information in Science and Technology), in the amount of R$ 160 thousand for technical-scientific studies aimed at restructuring the journal. In the physical-financial schedule, there is a forecast of R$65 thousand for editorial restructuring, R$40 thousand for visibility and indexing, R$26.9 thousand for training and R$28.1 thousand for dissemination and reporting.

The plan establishes actions such as reviewing the editorial model, training, visibility strategies and inclusion in databases and directories.
