The Adif Centralized Traffic Center (CTC) in Barcelona suffered two failures this Tuesday morning, paralyzing it on two occasions. The impact has been on the signaling systems. This is an incident similar to the one that occurred last week and which, according to the owner of the infrastructure, had already been resolved with a patch in the software.
The first incident was at 7:10 in the morning. According to Renfe, Rodalies circulation resumed five minutes later, after the incident at the CTC located at the Francia Station was resolved. The second was around 8 in the morning and also lasted about five minutes. Renfe has explained, without further details, that it was a failure in the signaling system. Adif, in its X account, considers the incident resolved.
The spokesperson for Renfe in Catalonia, Antonio Carmona, explained that the system automatically and preventively stops the circulation of trains when there is a failure of this type. The Rodalies service for this Tuesday will maintain the same configuration and offer as the one deployed, he added.
On January 26, two incidents at this same center due to problems with a computer program plunged the railway service in Catalonia into chaos and led to the dismissal of two senior officials from Adif and Renfe.
In total, there are 11 sections that will be covered by road again this Tuesday using alternative services.
