More and more information indicates that in the case of the affair of the American sex offender Jeffry Epstein, it was an operation of the Russian secret service KGB, aimed at compromising the Western elites. This was announced by Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk on Tuesday before the government meeting, the Warsaw correspondent TASR reports.

“More and more commentators and experts assume that this was a prepared operation by the Russian KGB – a so-called sweet trap set on Western elites,” he said. He added that the published materials also contain references to Russian President Vladimir Putin and the environment of Moscow’s political circles. The Soviet secret service KGB disappeared in 1991, and many of its functions, structures and personnel were taken over by the Russian FSB, whose second director was Putin.
Tusk recalled that, according to available analyses, Epstein may have had access to extensive financial resources of unclear origin. “The FBI says it had information that Mr. Epstein managed some of Vladimir Putin’s assets,” said the prime minister.
Tusk emphasized that the possible involvement of Russian services has serious consequences for the security of Poland. According to the prime minister, this may mean that they have materials compromising many leaders who are still active today. The government is therefore considering an international investigation. “It is not excluded that we will also call on other partners to make the investigation of this matter international in nature,” Tusk said.
Tusk informed that together with the Minister of Justice and the Minister for the Coordination of Secret Services created an analytical team to examine the Polish traces in the case. If the suspicions are confirmed, the government does not rule out the initiation of criminal prosecution and compensation for the victims.
Jeffrey Epstein was an American financier and convicted sex offender who became a scandalous symbol for the abuse of underage girls for the benefit of prominent clients. His death in custody in 2019 was considered a suicide by the authorities. This led to speculation of a murder due to his connections with influential celebrities, billionaires and politicians.
