An unusual moment experienced in the Molineux stands ended up winning fans all over the world and led Wolverhampton to surprise one of their youngest fans. During a Wolves game, television cameras captured little Rory in tears after his father took a chicken nugget from the box he was holding excitedly.
The child’s reaction, immediate and deeply felt, quickly spread across social media, making the video go viral. The episode, as simple as it was unexpected, ended up moving fans and internet users, who identified with the young fan’s frustration.
Attentive to what was happening outside the four lines, Wolverhampton decided not to remain indifferent. In the following game, Rory was invited back to the stadium, where he received a new box of nuggets and an official club shirt. The delivery was made by the mascot Wolfie, in a gesture that brought smiles and applause in the stands.
