In 2025, Slovak television aired the last episode of the show I love Slovakia on its screens. After twelve years and fifteen series, the lights finally went out in the studio with the explanation that the project, which originates from the Netherlands, was exhausted and no longer brings anything new.
The commercial televisions Markíza and JOJka saw it differently, which fought for the popular format and the television vice-leader emerged victorious. Thus, the renewed Milujem Slovensko returned in style on New Year’s Eve, when it scalped all the competition thanks to great viewing figures. From the end of February, the classic parts of the entertainment show will return, but according to findings, everything will be different this year!
For many years, Slovak television ordered individual series separately. The contracts were transparently published in the register. The former RTVS invented itself even when in uncertain times it could not sign contracts above a certain amount, so it ordered episode after episode of expensive projects. JOJ TV took a different approach and resolved any uncertainty as to whether or not there would be another series in one fell swoop. She bought the rights to several at once.
It was revealed to us by the moderator of the show, Martin Nikodým, who thinks this approach is fair for a popular program. “I’m glad that JOJka even ordered the autumn season. Compared to previous habits, we will go not only in one part of the year, but almost continuously. We will continue from September, so the work will de facto be twice as much.” he told Nikodým, adding that the spring series is completely filmed and the autumn series will be produced in the summer. JOJka believes in the format and can’t let the competition rest all year!
