Bolsonaro may lose his Army pension, but the value would go to Michelle

O former president Jair Bolsonaro could lose his retirement from more than R$15 thousand of the Brazilian Army. The reserve captain had the request for loss of rank requested by the Military Public Ministry to the Supreme Military Court (STM).

Bolsonaro will lose his salary of R$ 15,216.13, according to data from the Transparency Portal of the Comptroller General of the Union. The amount, however, will be deposited, in the form of a pension, to the former first lady Michelle Bolsonaro, and Laura Bolsonaro, aged 15.

In November last year, after being sentenced to 27 years in prison for an attempted coup d’état, he also lost the salary he received as honorary president of the Liberal Party (PL), of R$46,000. Measure complies with the law after Bolsonaro lost his political rights.

The Military Public Ministry asked the Supreme Military Court (STM) this Tuesday (3) to revoke the posts and patents of former president Jair Bolsonaro, former Navy commander Almir Garnier, and generals Augusto Heleno, Paulo Sérgio Nogueira and Walter Souza Braga Netto.

The STM will judge whether military personnel have the ethical conditions to continue in the Forces. Bolsonaro and the others were all convicted of attempted coup d’état. If the requests were complied with, the officers will be expelled.
