Dallas Mavericks trade Anthony Davis to Wizards in wide-ranging trade

The Dallas Mavericks have agreed to trade ten-time NBA All-Star forward Anthony Davis to the Washington Wizards in a deal involving eight players.

According to Shams Charania’s publication, the Mavericks will receive Khris Middleton, AJ Johnson, Malaki Branham and Marvin Bagley III, as well as two first-round draft picks and three second-round picks. The Wizards will also have Jaden Hardy, D’Angelo Russell and Dante Exum.

The deadline for exchanges is this Thursday at 3pm (US local time).

Anthony Davis has been out of action since January 8th due to a hand injury and has played in just 20 of Dallas’ 50 games this season. Even so, he averages 20.4 points, 11.1 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.7 blocks per game.

In the 2024-25 season, Davis started nine games as a starter after arriving at the Mavericks in a highly criticized trade that involved the departure of Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers.
