Bormio – If you look up from the finish area, you can see that the infamous descent over the Stelvio is no picnic. The Streif from the 1,665 meter high Hahnenkamm in Kitzbühel looks impressive, not least because of the local mountain that builds up like a wall. The 3,017 meter high Cima Bianca in Bormio, on which the World Cup races are held and which will be one of the highlights of these 25th Olympic Games with the men’s downhill on Saturday, is of a different caliber.
