Group caught by PSP coercively selling generators in Leiria

The Leiria PSP arrested a group suspected of coercively selling generators following Storm Kristin, which left several areas in the region without electricity. The intervention was recorded on video and shared by the security force itself.

According to the PSP, individuals were taking advantage of the vulnerability of people affected by the storm, trying to abusively sell generators to those who had already suffered significant losses. The images show the moment the suspects’ vehicle is intercepted by police cars.

In a note accompanying the video, the PSP emphasizes that it is attentive to this type of situation and guarantees firm action against anyone who tries to take advantage of the tragedy and the fragility of the victims.
