The recording of the phone call between Donald Trump and Brad Raffensperger went viral in January 2021: The US President demanded that the Secretary of State of the state of Georgia, whose duties are roughly comparable to those of an Interior Minister, “find” 11,780 votes. It was a blatant attempt to turn around the lost 2020 presidential election. Trump’s argument at the time: He had “won the state” and election winner Joe Biden’s team had cheated. It was Trump himself who obviously wanted to play tricks here – although Raffensperger, like Trump, a Republican, didn’t play along.
