An action by resulted in the seizure of two firearms along Ramal do KM 25, located on BR-364, towards Sena Madureira. The incident was recorded by teams from the Rural Patrol and the Ostensive Rapid Intervention Group (GIRO).

According to information provided by the PM, the military was called to investigate a situation involving illegal carrying and possession of a firearm, in addition to the suspected theft of chestnuts, a product widely exploited in the region at this time of year. During the approach, the driver of a vehicle was intercepted and, spontaneously, confessed that he was carrying a firearm inside the car. According to police, the suspect reported that he had another weapon stored in his home.
In the vehicle’s cargo compartment, the police also found chestnuts, the origin of which was not proven at the time of the approach. Given the facts, and as the man did not present any documentation authorizing the carrying or possession of the weapons, he was arrested. The suspect was taken to the Sena Madureira Civil Police Station, along with the seized material, so that the appropriate legal procedures could be adopted.
He highlighted that actions like this are part of the ongoing work to monitor and combat crimes in rural areas, with the aim of reinforcing security, curbing illegal practices and ensuring peace of mind for residents and producers in the region. The incident was the responsibility of the Civil Police, which will continue the investigations.
