Czech actor, entertainer and presenter Josef Carda starred in TV projects such as Tele Tele, Rebelové and Kamenák. Today, the 70-year-old actor continues to make an honest cut in the theater, although he could be relaxing in retirement. He spoke about the amount of his pension for the Carda website.
Looking at the actor, few would guess that he celebrated his birthday in January. Carda keeps in shape. “I go for long walks with the dog, I exercise and I don’t overeat,” revealed his recipe for good shape. In addition, he still regularly plays in the theater.
While some actors complain that the amount of their pension is insufficient, they would not be able to live on it, so they have to keep working, he does not make a big deal out of it. “I have an average pension. And I expected to work until the end of my life. I still can’t relax much,” said the actor with a joke in his voice.
In the Czech Republic, the pension has increased since January 2026. The so-called basic part of the pension for each pensioner increased to 4,900 Czech crowns, which is approximately 195 euros, i.e. about 9 to 10 euros more than until recently. At the same time, the second part of the pension, which depends on the amount of earnings during life, also increased by 2.6 percent.
After this valuation, the average pension should exceed the amount of 15,500 Czech crowns, which is approximately 620 euros. In addition, in January 2026, pensioners should also receive a one-time supplement for the first month of the increase. The average old-age pension in Slovakia in 2026 may reach the level of approximately 701 euros.
