The storm destroyed a large part of Paulo Morgado and his wife’s house. The roof flew off due to the force of the wind and part of the structure of the house in Maceira, in the municipality of Torres Vedras, gave way.
Paulo Morgado and his wife saw their house, almost ready for its debut, being destroyed within two hours, as a result of Kristin’s depression. The couple has been sleeping in one of the bedrooms for a week, the only room where it doesn’t rain.
The storm took away their roof and caused part of the structure of the house to collapse in Maceira, in municipality of Torres Vedras, district of Leiria.
“We survived here, I don’t know how, it would have been a year this month since we had moved, still with some weaknesses but we were already living here. I tried to save this somehow, but it was impossible because nothing could save anything,” said Paulo Morgado.
The couple says that without the help of their brother and nephew it would have been even worse.
“The degradation has been hour by hour, and it’s getting worse and worse. We’re unlikely to have what we had. We need help more than ever and, of course, whoever is available, we’re here,” he added.
