Tallahassee (Florida) – Unusual cold has caused masses of iguanas to fall from the trees in the otherwise sun-drenched US state of Florida. At temperatures below ten degrees Celsius, the cold-blooded lizards slow down their body functions – up to the point of cold paralysis, which causes them to lose their grip, as local media reported. The dragon-like animals then fall motionless to the ground, usually unharmed. When it gets warmer, they recover.
